Insurance Reimbursement
If you would like to use your health insurance for counseling, I will be happy to assist
you in this process by providing you with the required receipt and coding.
I do not participate in any managed care plans, health management organizations, or
preferred provider plans. However, many health insurance plans do reimburse for my
services as a "non-participating" ("out of network") provider.
Insurance plans can change and many insurance carriers offer multiple plans, so
it's important that you verify your benefits directly with your insurer. When you
speak with your insurance company, some of the important questions to ask include:
- Does my health insurance plan have a mental health benefit?
- Does my plan reimburse for Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC's)?
- Does my plan cover a non-participating (out of network) LPC, and at what percentage?
- What is my deductible and has it been met yet?
- Is my mental health deductable part of, or separate from, my medical deductable?
- How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
Some of the insurance companies that I've worked with are listed below. Many insurance
plans cover the services of Licensed Professional Counselor's so if you don't see your
company's name on this list, it's still worth checking your plan.
